Aluminium Sulphate

Aluminum sulfate is a water-soluble, odorless, white crystalline compound with the chemical formula Al2(SO4)3 and CAS 10043-01-3. It has a sweet, mildly astringent taste and is insoluble in ethanol. Aluminum sulfate may burn, but it will not ignite.

Aluminum sulfate is a nontoxic, noncombustible, white crystalline chemical compound primarily used as a coagulating agent in the purification of drinking water. It is also used as a mordent in dyeing and printing textiles, as well as to regulate the pH of garden soil and for other industrial, agricultural and consumer uses. Aluminum sulfate is sometimes referred to as alum or papermaker’s alum in certain industries, although the reference is a scientifically improper use of the term.
